The People of the UK Are Being Shafted

Is it any wonder that people feel utterly powerless right now?

Everywhere you look, the hard-working taxpayer, the pensioner, the farmer, and the struggling family are being shafted while illegal migrants and virtue-signalling government policies get priority.

Let me give you a few examples, because this needs shouting from the rooftops.

In Richmond upon Thames, the council owns or rents 30 properties specifically for so-called asylum seekers—let’s be real, most of these are illegal migrants. They’re throwing out offers that your average British family couldn’t even dream of: £3,500 in incentive payments and £2,800 a month in guaranteed rent for five years on a four-bedroom house. Who’s going to turn that down? Certainly not landlords.

But for struggling local families facing a chronic housing shortage, it’s tough luck—you’re at the back of the queue, mate. And it doesn’t stop there.

The Department of Work and Pensions has revealed that households where one or both claimants are these so-called refugees pocketed £726 million in universal credit payments. Meanwhile, pensioners—those who’ve worked their entire lives, paying into the system—are being mugged off with cuts to the winter fuel payment. That £200 or £300 lifeline for heating their homes has been axed, saving the government £1.3 billion.

So, on one hand, the government is shovelling nearly a billion quid to those with no right to be here, and on the other, pensioners are told to just put on another jumper. Fair? You tell me.

And now, to rub salt into the wound, farmers—those keeping food on our tables—are set to lose 20% of their farms thanks to new inheritance tax rules. From 2026, family farms will face a 20% tax on agricultural assets over £1 million, stripping away exemptions that have kept these businesses running for generations.

This is a hammer blow to rural Britain, forcing families to flog their land just to pay the taxman. Food security? Rural livelihoods? Clearly not a priority for the powers that be.

It’s no wonder people are seething. They vote, time and again, for immigration controls, for common sense, for politicians to listen to them. And what do we get? A political class that says one thing during an election, then does the exact opposite once they’ve got their cushy seats and fat expenses in Westminster.

The ballot box is broken. People feel betrayed, ignored, and utterly powerless. But here’s the thing—they aren’t powerless. They’re angry. They’re furious.

And that anger is only growing.
