Interesting to note that many protests centred on hotels housing migrants.
The anger is justified. Dinghy migrants are nothing but immigration cheats. The Asylum system is a loophole by which the uninvited impose themselves on this country, showing a casual contempt for our laws, having paid more than many British people have in their savings to criminal gangs.
As bad as that is, our own government rewards this by declaring an effective amnesty, allowing them to leapfrog the housing queue, whereupon they'll be dumped in our communities until they can exploit family reunion rules to ship in their welfare dependent relatives.
It's slap in the face for British taxpayers, many of whom wait years on housing lists.
There's no money to help vulnerable women and pensioners, but we can find £4.3 billion to spend on foreign criminals.
Adding insult to injury, the entire political class maintains the lie that these people are refugees and that we are somehow morally obliged to admit them. That moral obligation doesn't extend as far as putting their hands in their own pockets.
They steal from us to do it, and now they tell us pensioners will have to cut back on home heating and we all have to pay more tax.
There is, then, every justification for protesting, not least since potentially dangerous, third world men of fighting age are being deposited in and around our communities under a veil of secrecy.
Since it's the view of the Prime Minister that the public must simply put up with this, continually rubbing our noses in it, and that anyone who protests is a "far right thug", we are obliged to tell him where to go.
If the police then use disproportionate force on us, that they wouldn't deploy against foreigners and armed Islamist militias, then riots are the obvious consequence.
It's been a long time coming.
