Ed Miliband Is Rapidly Killing This Country (UK), With His Crackpot Net Zero Lunacy.

Ed Miliband. The failed party leader, who was booted out even by Labour. That surely, even if there were nothing else speaks volumes.

Car makers: You can't expect them to keep doing the hokey-cokey in terms of manufacture of electric cars, as opposed to petrol and diesel cars. One minute it's ok, then the next it's not, then it's fine again. This chopping and changing means, they really don't know where they stand. These things 'have' to be carefully planned by a car manufacturer. Plant and equipment has to be planned for, invested in, for a long term, future. Not 6 months down the road and it's all change. Businesses don't work like that.

But then again Miliband has never had a proper job in his life, so he'd never know. The plain fact is most people don't want electric vehicles. They're too expensive (and don't tell me you can get a second hand one cheaply...I wouldn't buy a second hand one...How long before the batteries die?).

There is of course the 'issue' of range anxiety. Charging it on a run, and having to wait an hour or two to charge the damn thing, and that's assuming you can find a place with a suitable charger that's actually working. Then of course the cost of charging it.

I saw a video clip the other day, made by an electrician, who knows what he's talking about. In a nutshell he said, "Let's say 14 million cars were plugged in at night into their homes. Not only is there a fire risk, as it's drawing a constant 35 amps throughout the night, never diminishing, the load on the grid would collapse the grid. Let's say an electric shower. That can draw about 25 amps of power, but that's only for 5 to 10 minutes or so, and that's fine. But a constant draw of 35 amps is dangerous. Household cabling just isn't designed for or thick enough to take that load and the grid can't provide it."

The whole net zero premise is sheer and utter lunacy and Miliband is driving it relentlessly unopposed. Now a major vehicle manufacturer is shutting up shop in Luton, for no other reason but the electric vehicle nonsense and net zero.

That's 1100 jobs straight down the plug hole. Port Talbot closing their blast furnaces (I forget the numbers) but that's more thousands of job down the plug hole. Even in a tiny steelmaking company where I worked, only 20 employees, that's down to 3 days a week and the other week they were laid off for the entire week, as a direct result of Port Talbot.

The net zero lunacy just 'has' to stop. Miliband 'must' be stopped. He's rapidly (not even slowly), killing this country. I could go on and on about his particular brand of lunacy, like killing steel making.

The folly of windmills (yes they are windmills...A 200 year old technology long since abandoned because it doesn't work reliably). Taxing farmers out of their 2-3-4-5th generations of farming, so he can spread the land with useless solar panels, incidentally bought from China. The 'green' taxes we all pay on all of our domestic and industrial energy bills. It's simply crippling every household in the country with the cost of it.

Don't even get me started on the 'carbon capture' rubbish. What the hell is that going to do? The cost of all this 'we' - Joe Soap has to fund it. We all know by now that the UK emits less than 1% of global emissions. Is that going to make one iota of difference globally?

Meanwhile pensioners will actually die (yes die) this winter because they can't heat their homes.

Miliband, Starmer and company won't care.

This needs to be stopped.

Interesting I was looking at changing my BMW X5 and the second hand prices of hybrids looked appealing.

Scratch below the surface with bimmerfest (the BMW fan clubs) and they all tell you to run for the hills. The prices are cheap because the batteries only last 6-8 yrs. At 5 yrs old everyone dumps them.

EVs are doomed for the average motorists. I get it in cities but everywhere else expect scrap values in a few years.

Meanwhile a gas gussling M4 is looking like me
